Good morning WordPress! After being banned on the website Deviantart for over a year I am now ready to return as a mature 13-year-old artist who has much to share. Now many of you may be wondering “Why in the world did she get banned for?” The answer is simply because I was under the age of 13. FAQ #696 states “Currently deviantART’s compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (effective April 21st 2000) is limited to prohibiting any child under the age of 13 from opening, maintaining, or otherwise using a deviantART account. This restriction stands even when parental permission is granted” At the time I cannot remember the exact reason why I put my age up but I can infer that it was because I wanted to show others that even minors can do great things as well.
When I was on Deviantart I remember watching people who were much older than me. Their artistic skills were a sight to see, from the drawing to the coloring stage. I always wanted to be good at art, I wanted to be like others because I tried comparing mine to them. I look back now and say that I don’t have to compare my art to anybody else’s because I have improved. I have shared my art with others, there are people who really like my work and even though my age doesn’t permit me to do a thousand things I have done something. Sharing my art and seeing that the improvement is great makes me happy. Now I know that my art is good, now I know that I don’t have to be afraid to share what I do almost everyday.
So hopefully once I sign up again things will be very different. But I do have to confess that I used informal writing back then. If I can find some type of evidence I’ll try sharing it with everyone here on WordPress.
Returning to Deviantart poll:
Not only am I getting a move on in the social network once more, I’m moving on to some traditional art as well. Yesterday was one of those great days where you just get to relax, chat and party.with your peers. While sitting down in my gym class waiting to see if we would do some sort f activity one of my gym teachers took me to the office located in the gym. There is when I recieevd a gift. A gift that would be the beginning of something new.
That one gym teacher gave me a pack of 6 Copic markers! 😀 I couldn’t believe it though and I didn’t expect it at all. Even though she asked me about the markers I wanted about a week ago I didn’t know that she would buy them for me. Copics are really expensive and I can’t believe that someone would actually take their time and money to get me some. It was truly an honor. I thanked her at that exact moment when the hapiness rushed inside my soul like crashing waves. She bought me a .Too marker pad to go along with the markers.
The markers come from the package called “Earth Essentials” and it brings the following colors:
B41- Powder Blue
B45- Smokey Blue
YG17- Grass Green
Most of the colors match with Violin’s design and I did sketch and color her a few times just to test the markers out. It was an amazing gift and she would like to see some colored art.
The markers blend really nicely with each other and the final product is just great! Here are some photos:
Good afternoon WordPress viewers. I am back after five days of being knocked off the electricity line due to hurricane Sandy. The week was long, cold and not in good shape. But that doesn’t mean that humor should be left out! But I’ll tell you now, Sandy was devastating and it brought many winds that caused damage. But I thank God for protecting us and guiding us through the darkness because it was truly shocking to be in the dark for five days straight. Certain days were windier than others and it was very dangerous. The streets were deserted and my neighborhood was like a ghost town during that time. The mornings weren’t sunny and there was lightning (it was a blueish-green color). Trees and branches fell down in my area but in some parts of New Jersey the damage was severe. There were evacuations.
But enough talk about Sandy (it gives me the chills just mentioning it) and allow me to share some better news, the type of news I like to talk about! Art! As I mentioned in one of my recent posts and in the title, I ordered a light box by Artograph on Amazon and I received it yesterday. My goodness! I was very happy just to hold the box in my hands and when I started opening it I squealed. I even sang while opening the box and I thanked God for such a gift that would help me in my art journey!
It was a big box that contained the 10 x 12 in. light box. Here are a few pictures that I took:
Hello everyone! IMaidensWing the part photographer here, showing you guys some old photos I took plus my most recent ones. The most recent ones are the ones containing a backpack and school supplies. Me and my mom took these pictures (I took most of them) and I liked them a lot. I’m not a professional but at least I gave it a shot!
I love my new uniform! Even through the khaki colored pants are not so good for girls I can’t just run in and blurt something else (I don’t mean it fashion wise). But I admit that it’s still awesome! I had fun taking these pictures. Hopefully when I have more experience in photography and more money I can buy a better camera (Canon).
Some pictures were taken by my mom 🙂 I thank God for this amazing day, I got my backpack (a big thanks to the state of New Jersey also), part of my uniform and a reunion with my friends.
