After being away from Sakura93’s World for approximately 3-4 months, the first thing that came to my mind was a whole new make over for the blog with my most recent piece of Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. With a little bit of editing on Photoshop the header was created along with the drawing’s outline.
Although I have not been posting here I can reassure those who pass by the blog that I continue to create more digital works of art.
After sharing the news of Maiden’s Pixel Lottery with a quick upload I did on Deviantart, mentioning the contest’s existence would take some work. And this article will hopefully help out in the process. As a young artist I decided to mix my talent of writing and art to make an unbelievable article. This quick preview is for you my dear WordPress friends and viewers to show the article I’m working on, even though it’s just a draft. I feel like it can improve and that’s why I’m asking for your opinions. A quick comment wouldn’t hurt in fact, it would actually be helpful because as a writer constructive criticism is important.
Briefly I would like to give a big thanks to everyone who has liked my posts and have commented on specific ones recently. I’m sorry for not replying to all of you, but remember, I do read your lovely comments 🙂
A. I currently do not own Photoshop and I thank God that Gimp converted the template to an RGB file. Gimp is my alternative to Photoshop for editing and adding text to my art.
Q. What size is this button?
A. The original size of this beautiful button is 2.25 inches in diameter.
Q. Are you selling this button by any chance?
A. Right now I am not selling any buttons because I do not have the proper equipment to make them. Hopefully in the future I’ll start selling them, I don’t have enough funds to buy the kit I want from AmericanButtonMachines.
Q. How did you do the white outline on the text?
A. I found a tutorial on a website called Gimpology.
AmericanButtonMachines is a website that makes buttons directly from the US and sells a variety of button materials. SixCentPress is an alternative for those who live in Canada.
Copic update: Earlier today my mother brought me the 3 Copic Sketch markers I purchased off Oozak after days of waiting. The colors are: YR000 – Silk, RV52 – Cotton Candy and E99 – Baked Clay, this means I have 18 markers in my collection 🙂
Hello there WordPress friends, a long day has ended up to be a long night here on my side of screen and I would like to make a quick post that will hopefully include a poll later on. As the title says I may possibly make a pixel tutorial for those beginners out there in the pixel making realm because not only have I been working on this style of art recently, I also have a great friend (Riku 4 from Deviantart) who makes them. Her recent livestreams have made we want to go an extra mile in this area of art and it’s really fun once you get the hang of it. Even though there isn’t a million tutorials out there, contributing wouldn’t hurt a bit.
I already brainstormed my ideas while I was watching Riku during her livestream and I just love the way she makes them because of the detail and efforts she puts into each little detail. Her anatomy is really great, in my perspective nothing is out of proportion while the outline makes the final product even more appealing, I was fascinated when Riku told me that she avoids using bases because she knows how the base is suppose to be whenever starting a new pixel. My eyes were staring at the screen the majority of the time during her livestream.
On the other hand I would like to share these two polls with everyone to see if there should be a tutorial or not. Now if the majority answers “Yes”, I want to mention that the tutorial would come in a few months or so. I have to finish my art trades, gifts, requests and a majority of the prizes for Maiden’s Pixel Lottery before I do anything personal.
Good morning WordPress! After being banned on the website Deviantart for over a year I am now ready to return as a mature 13-year-old artist who has much to share. Now many of you may be wondering “Why in the world did she get banned for?” The answer is simply because I was under the age of 13. FAQ #696 states “Currently deviantART’s compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (effective April 21st 2000) is limited to prohibiting any child under the age of 13 from opening, maintaining, or otherwise using a deviantART account. This restriction stands even when parental permission is granted” At the time I cannot remember the exact reason why I put my age up but I can infer that it was because I wanted to show others that even minors can do great things as well.
When I was on Deviantart I remember watching people who were much older than me. Their artistic skills were a sight to see, from the drawing to the coloring stage. I always wanted to be good at art, I wanted to be like others because I tried comparing mine to them. I look back now and say that I don’t have to compare my art to anybody else’s because I have improved. I have shared my art with others, there are people who really like my work and even though my age doesn’t permit me to do a thousand things I have done something. Sharing my art and seeing that the improvement is great makes me happy. Now I know that my art is good, now I know that I don’t have to be afraid to share what I do almost everyday.
So hopefully once I sign up again things will be very different. But I do have to confess that I used informal writing back then. If I can find some type of evidence I’ll try sharing it with everyone here on WordPress.
Returning to Deviantart poll:
Not only am I getting a move on in the social network once more, I’m moving on to some traditional art as well. Yesterday was one of those great days where you just get to relax, chat and party.with your peers. While sitting down in my gym class waiting to see if we would do some sort f activity one of my gym teachers took me to the office located in the gym. There is when I recieevd a gift. A gift that would be the beginning of something new.
That one gym teacher gave me a pack of 6 Copic markers! 😀 I couldn’t believe it though and I didn’t expect it at all. Even though she asked me about the markers I wanted about a week ago I didn’t know that she would buy them for me. Copics are really expensive and I can’t believe that someone would actually take their time and money to get me some. It was truly an honor. I thanked her at that exact moment when the hapiness rushed inside my soul like crashing waves. She bought me a .Too marker pad to go along with the markers.
The markers come from the package called “Earth Essentials” and it brings the following colors:
B41- Powder Blue
B45- Smokey Blue
YG17- Grass Green
Most of the colors match with Violin’s design and I did sketch and color her a few times just to test the markers out. It was an amazing gift and she would like to see some colored art.
The markers blend really nicely with each other and the final product is just great! Here are some photos:
Good evening WordPress friends, I hope you’re all doing well this month of December. Many things have been going on in my life and the world around me, a world called America. But before I go into further detail with what has happened recently I would like to share some good news with you all 😀
I currently have over 170 subscribers on YouTube and I’m very glad to achieve such a number. Hopefully one day I’ll reach 200 or maybe even 500! I was very excited to see that many people have been subscribing to me lately and that my art is finally be noticed at a good pace. I know that this is a blessing from God and I’ll make sure to take advantage of the moment in a good way. Hopefully the video I have prepared for you guys will be a bit meaningful. It isn’t too long but I want to break the ice in the video making world.
Part of that video includes a small speed paint of this work in progress of a modeling sheet for my new character, Violin.
This character is part of a plan b I have just in case my classmate’s comic doesn’t work out. Hopefully we’ll get that project done for our social studies class. This character belongs to the possible comic, 12-12-12: Another World. There’s a huge possibility of this becoming an independent project. I have already started the script and I have currently written 7 pages. I found that writing scripts isn’t too difficult once you start writing. My social studies teacher really liked it and said that this “plan b” is more of a free choice project, not a comic strip/cartoon one.
Would you like to learn more about this project (12-12-12: Another World)?
That WIP image is a small gift I wanted to share with you guys as a thank you 🙂 I would like to do something much more for you guys. If anyone has any ideas please email me at email@example.com I really like hearing from you guys because it helps me communicate with others and improve in some way.
As mentioned in paragraph 1 of my post I mentioned that many things have happened here in American. But the saddest thing is the massacre that took place in Connecticut last week. 26 or 27 people died in a school called Sandy Hook, the majority of them were children much younger than me and it’s sad. It really is. The murder soon committed suicide after he heard the sound of police cars and in my point of view his conscious got the best of him. There were brave souls who did risk their lives to save as many children as possible. May God have them in His glory and a moment of silence should be given. Things like these do happen, not only in American, it happens worldwide.
Although there are tragedies that truly impact one’s life, I do want to mention that my winter concert is this Thursday and that it’s my first time playing an instrument in front of others. I hope you guys have enjoyed this post and remember to thank God for each day you wake up alive. These type of things do make you realize how life precious is and all we can do is pray for those who really need some support at this very moment.
After a long 2-3 hours of coloring part of the gift I have finally finished coloring Kisara 🙂 Now I just have to draw and color Seto to make the final result look its best! I thank God for this moment, for this day, for this weekend and life because the grand and not so grand moments are what allow me to do many things. On the other hand the recording process went great and it was going well until the window that was supposed to allow me to save it wouldn’t pop up. Sadly I cannot upload any new speed paint for now due to that problem. Yet I would like to share the image with my YouTube viewers. I hope you like your gift so far CrazyComicLady! 🙂 I worked really hard on it and hopefully a smile shall fall upon your face and many others.
Not only do I have to share the picture shown above I also want to share some really good news. If everyone remembers a contest entry I did for my school for Teen Read Week then you may want to keep reading. It results that during the last period of school they announced the winner. It was very noisy at the time so I could not hear what they said over the intercom but some of my classmates managed to get part of it. I couldn’t believe when one of them said I won. I really didn’t but the happiness ran over me. Right after class ended I ran towards the music room to get my instrument tuned and I went to the library. I asked the librarian (Ms.King) to see if it was true.
And then it was official. I had won the bookmark contest! >w< I have to go back to the library on Monday to claim the prize. Yet the physical prize isn’t what matters. In this case what matters is that I got my art out there. My goal was to share my dreams as an artist, to improve as one and spread the word out there. Even an American can draw in a style that is known by many and loved as well. And today I represented my goals and completed part of them. I will always and even now give the glory to God because He is the one and only one who deserves it. Me, I just get the strength I need from Him to survive in this world :3
Although I am a young artist that loves to draw, things have been getting on top of me at school. From Language Arts to strings, gym, Social Studies, and Math, my occupations take time but I do reflect on my irresponsibility when I feel it’s time. Slowly I’m getting on a move on with what people have asked me to draw and the weekend is the best time to get them done. I admit that every time I say that I’ll work on them, whether it’s the weekend or after school, I don’t. My excuse: procrastination and a busy schedule. Yet my excuses cause others trouble and just reflecting on my errors makes me want to do something for once.
Many people have asked me for some artwork and it does type of comments are the things that make me want to try even more, they really do. Sadly I just can’t add anymore to my list. As much as I would love to, I can’t and no one is to blame. Art trades and requests are currently closed but the quickest thing I can do is a pixel. It’s been almost a month since I started Maiden’s Pixel Lottery and I’ve only finished 8 out of the many pixels I need to do. I only started to sketch one character out of the two for a gift I promised someone. That very little progress is what keeps me from moving on. I won’t promise anything I can’t complete within a certain amount of time because things get complicated afterwards.
Instead, I’ll work on them and stop mentioning them in a monotony. So I hope that does who do love my art and have liked any of my posts containing them in the past, to please understand me, right now I cannot take any art trade or request of any sort. My irresponsibility is just one of does humanly natures that have me tied up to a ball of yarn. So if anyone has any tips on how to stop that evil little creature running around with knitting supplies, please do share 🙂 Even though I’m 12 years old and reaching the age of 13, there is much more that I have to learn not only art wise but life wise.
A great day leads to a great night. Hello there everyone, I’m here making this post to share my most recent pixel of my character, Max. I felt like I needed to do something for myself, after all I haven’t done so in a while and I knew that treating myself to some art would cover it. School has kept me tied up to a pole but each day I try to give it my all. I’ve made new friends and have learned new things educational wise. My concert is the next week on Thursday December 20. The original date was December 18 but picture day caused the rescheduling. Although this is the first time I ever play in an orchestra, I feel really positive!
But music isn’t the only thing in my list. Art is still part of me and my life.Today I found out that club activities are starting to rise up into the audience. And art is one of them. So of course I sat in my seat during math with a frozen expression with a smile. Even though I notified my ride, I still have to get the permission slip quickly so she doesn’t have to wait for me all day tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll be there on time to be one of the first on line! My mom isn’t too sure about the idea due to the fact that she doesn’t want me stuck in school every single day since she arrives at home around 5:00 P.M.
As a young artist I have learned that if you want to do something that you’ve never done before or have failed to do in the process is that you must try harder and learn from your errors. Now my main error in the comic making world been being unprepared on the written side of things. Even my art needed some more work at the time. But now I can say that after realizing that my last web comic was a failure I have learned to do things the correct way without rushing as much. I still have much to learn but I’ll take it step by step if I must. This is a preview of the gift I’m doing for CrazyComicLady. Please note that this is a sketch of the cover art and that it’s probably not the final product.
If you would like to see the full version of the cover please click the image 🙂 Dimensions: 5 x 5.7 in. 300 DPI
